Guilty Pleasures

I won’t deny it! I have unbelievably sick obsession with my Buxom lip gloss set. I know this may seem like your typical beauty store brand, but there is so much to this lip gloss brand that I appreciate, compared to everything I have tried. I started wearing makeup when I was 13 years old. As a 13 year old girl, my closest makeup heaven was my local pharmacy, which carried amazing deals. I would stock on brands such as Maybelline and Loreal, which did very decent jobs (I still sneak some Maybelline and Loreal into my makeup set here and there, which I can discuss in the near future). Today, I own close to $3000 in lipstick, all from brands like Nars, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, and so on… all of these with some particular likes and dislikes. $3000 in lipstick means A LOT OF LIPSTICK, therefore, I find myself constantly tossing barely used lipstick because they expire pretty fast. Interestingly, it seems to me that my the most expensive lipsticks and lip glosses expire sooner than the least expensive ones, which I think it’s beyond suspicious… Before proceeding into my conspiracy theories, below I will outline reasons why Buxom is my new (favorite) love:
–  Buxom lip gloss takes forever to expire! Yes, I have owned one of my favorite colors (Sarina) for close to two years, and it is still like new – no funky smell or funky sensation on my lips.
– The mint tastes is fantastic. This is not your typical overwhelming minty flavor. In fact, I hate anything with mint that isn’t gum or tea leaves, but this lipstick has surpassed my expectations. The minty sensation is subtle and comfortable, and it feels great on my lips considering that they’re always dry – it serves as a lip balm if that makes sense. When wearing most lipsticks, my lips get dry and sensitive, so Buxom is definitely a great addition to my care routine.
– It is not messy! Yes, I used to have a passionately love/hate relationship with lip gloss because it is simply messy! I used to stick to lipstick alone, but sometimes it can make my lips look dry; but on the other hand, Buxom is made with a more consistent/heavy formula, meaning that it stays in place (no messes) and allows for prolonged wear.
Overall, I think that this was an amazing find, and I simply won’t give it up. As of now, I have tried 5 of their colors, but I look forward to trying all the colors in the line.
What is your favorite lip gloss/ lipstick and what do you love about it?
